Used 2006 Mazda MX-5

The MX-5, like the late Honda S2000, is a car that you have to fit, not the other way around. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this model with a 6 speed manual anywhere. No dealers in the Southeast had a PRHT with manual. The auto though is exceptional - immediate shifts in manual, throtle blip downshifts, etc. Gas mileage is consistent @ 23 mph for mixed driving. The A/C is weak in very hot weather; takes a long time to cool interior. But with heated seats and windows up, one comfortably drive at freeway speeds into the 50s, making it an easy 3 season roadster. All in alll, a superlative car. I have read the complaints about the vehicle being cramped and uncomfortable for long journeys. I am 5 foot 12 inches and drove for 600 miles and found it was comfortable. The ride is firm but compliant and the seats support very well. The gas pedal is exceptional and the sport steering wheel is great.
