Motortrend said Ford's smallest truck is a wonderful little workhorse. The bed has genuine utility, it tows smaller loads with ease, and the interior was designed with thoughtful storage solutions for pickup buyers. Mavericks boxy styling lends it a little more street cred than the Hyundai Santa Cruz, although that truck is slightly more capable and neither truck offers multiple cab and bed configurations. The compact Maverick succeeds as a small, affordable option for those who don't need a pickup that tows 12,000 pounds and has 45 inches of rear legroom. It offers the handling of a tall hatchback, and pricing cheaper than a Toyota Camry. Well done, Ford. Edmunds recommend the XLT trim for most Maverick buyers saying It is reasonably priced and gives you the option of either the hybrid powertrain or the regular gas engine. You can also spruce it up with a few different option packages if you like. The FX4 package, that this XLT features, is a low-cost way to get some extra off-road capability without having to spend a lot more money on the Tremor. It also enhances the standard 13.2 touchscreen.
