The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 stays true to its old-school roots, and the latest updates to the interior and technology do a lot to help this truck be more competitive against its full-size rivals. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 had a bit of a rough start when it was last redesigned in 2019. Since then, it has undergone numerous changes and upgrades to make up for its initial shortcomings. The 2022 Silverado 1500 gets the most significant changes yet, with a much-improved interior and larger infotainment screen, a restyled front end, a revised engine lineup. For 2022, Chevrolet has dropped the 4.3-liter V6 engine from the Silverado's lineup, leaving it with four available engines. The Silverado's turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine has been given a healthy increase in torque over last year's model it now makes a stout 430 lb-ft, up from 348 lb-ft. Changes to the eight-speed transmission have also been made to take advantage of the 2.7-liter engine's newfound torque; this combo should enhance acceleration while still being reasonably fuel-efficient.
