The BMW X5 provides a posh ride experience while giving you the ability to break out from comfort into an aggressive, sporty and fast ride with the touch of a button. I equipped the executive package from factory for “the looks”, and the crystal shifter has a bad reputation for looking gaudy. To me, the glass shifter sparkles so elegantly and is a constant reminder that this isn’t an average car. The car drives so much smoother, quieter, and more refined that if I was blind folded and put behind the wheel and allowed to drive this car, I would be adamant that I was not driving an X5 or a BMW. The steering wheel is familiar yet so different. It is a beefy grip and again extremely comfortable. The iDrive is so much better than years past and I started with the original with my 2004 BMW 745Li. Lots of redundancy and intuitive. The gesture control requires time to learn and appreciate it. I don't feel that it is gimmicky as many reviews seem to categorize it. The HVAC system is super and reaches your desired climate very quickly. The audio, Harman Karden base system is just fine for me. I custom built my 2019 X5 with most options selected less the off-road air bags. Options selected: M Sport, Executive Tier, 21" M Y-Spoke bi-color wheels style 741M performance run-flats, Coffee Extended Merino Leather, Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish wood trim, Dynamic Handling Package, Luxury Seating Package, Acoustic Glass, Glass Controls, Heated front seats, armrests, and steering wheel, Leather Dashboard, and BMW rubber floor mats.
