The 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt was a special edition model inspired by the 1968 Mustang GT driven by Steve McQueen in the movie "Bullitt." It featured a 315 horsepower V8 engine, a Short Throw Hurst 5-speed manual transmission, and a unique suspension setup for a more focused driving experience. Only 5,808 units were produced in 2008, and the car was known for its muted, stealthy exterior look with green paint, black wheels, and minimal badging. The Bullitt has a 4.6-liter V8 engine producing 315 horsepower, more than the standard Mustang GT, and 325 lb-ft of torque. It also includes a shorter final-drive ratio, a recalibrated throttle, and retuned cams for improved performance. The Bullitt features unique shocks, struts, and rear springs, resulting in a slightly lower ride height and a firmer, more controlled handling experience. The car looks like the movie car with its green paint, black wheels, and lack of badges. It also used a black-mesh grille with a satin aluminum strip, inspired by the chrome accent on the original Bullitt Mustang.
