The Maverick has a hybrid powertrain available as standard on the XL, XLT (FWD and AWD) and Lariat trim, it uses a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), producing 162 horsepower. When combined with the electric motor, the system produces an additional 191 horsepower and 155 lb.-ft. of torque. The Lobo and Tremor trim are powered by a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 250 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. For those seeking more power, a 2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is also available.
