Used 1981 Bmw 528i

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1981 BMW 528i. Finished in Alpine White over blue cloth interior, this E12 presents to a good driver standard inside and out. Body is straight and solid; trim is particularly nice. Fondmetal 15-inch alloy wheels are wearing new Vredestein Giugiaro tires. The E12 was the first generation of the BMW 5-series, and it set the standard for a full-size sports sedan - an E12 is much more sporting to drive than anything else from the era. Indeed, their lineup in the 1970s and 1980s is what made BMW's reputation as the ultimate driving machine. Under the hood is a fuel-injected 2.8 liter M30 inline six which likes to rev and pulls strong all the way to redline; it's mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The engine runs smoothly and the gearbox feels great with no crunchy synchros (it's far more light and communicative than either a Porsche or Mercedes-Benz transmission from the same era). Recent service has included lower control arms, tie rod ends, new shocks, new brake calipers and lines, and new tires.
