Dealer Description
In February 1982, the Grand National debuted and would be built through 1987. Winning the Manufacturers cup in 1981 and 1982 through the Winston Cup Series, Buick wanted to capitalize on its success. The old saying “What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday” and hoping to revive their performance image from the 1960's the Grand National was born. Based on the Regal the Grand National would feature a 3.8 Liter Turbo charged 6-cylinder which at the time was not the norm even though that motor actually dates back to the early 1970s. 1985, was the second lowest production for the Grand National producing just over 2,000 units. Furthermore, this particular time-capsule we are excited to represent has been owned by its seller since 1989 and has only traveled just about 3,000 miles in the last 35 years. The first owner bought the car new and drove it as “Just a car” and put the first 60,000 miles on it. This car is a very original unmolested car with a brake booster upgrade, radio and wheels but we have all the original items to go with the car. Other than routine maintenance, looks like a newer Cat back exhaust and shocks are the only things that the car has needed. The paint is original and has some swirling and a couple small dings and other minor blemishes, the interior is in very good condition and the engine bay is clean and tidy. This car has a ton of possibilities.
