Designed as a lightweight, performance-oriented version of the Carrera 2, the RS America was offered exclusively for the U.S. market in very limited numbers just 701 examples produced over two years. It channeled the spirit of the European Carrera RS while maintaining road usability, making it one of the most desirable 964 variants among collectors and enthusiasts today.
