The MX-5 is a car that you have to fit, not the other way around. The hardtop reduces unwanted wind noise which our previous versions (including a 1999 with removable hardtop) all suffered from with the top up. The interior is comfortable and the ergonomics are just about perfect. However if you're tall or big, this car won't fit you. The MX-5, like the late Honda S2000, is a car that you have to fit, not the other way around. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this model with a 6 speed manual anywhere. No dealers in the Southeast had a PRHT with manual. The auto though is exceptional - immediate shifts in manual, throtle blip downshifts, etc. Gas mileage is consistent @ 23 mph for mixed driving. The A/C is weak in very hot weather; takes a long time to cool interior. But with heated seats and windows up, one comfortably drive at freeway speeds into the 50s, making it an easy 3 season roadster. All in all, a superlative car.
