A Rare, 2011 Infiniti G37 IPL (Infiniti Performance Line) was launched as the brand's premiere performance sub-brand, designed to compete with high-end divisions like BMWs M or Mercedes-AMG. While the G37 Sport (often badged as the G37S) already offered significant performance upgrades over the base model such as a viscous limited-slip differential, sport-tuned suspension, and upgraded Akebono brakes the IPL trim pushed these boundaries even further with factory-tuned enhancements. The most notable difference lies under the hood, where the IPLs 3.7L V6 engine was retuned to produce 348 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 18 hp and 6 miles over the standard Sport trim. It also rides on exclusive 19-inch graphite-finish split 7-spoke wheels wrapped in high-performance summer tires. Inside, the IPL offers a higher tier of luxury as standard, often featuring Monaco Red leather with red stitching, Silk Obi aluminum trim, and a premium Bose "Studio on Wheels" audio system. While the Sport trim was widely available, the IPL was produced in significantly lower numbers and only offered in specific colors like Malbec Black and Graphite Shadow, making it a much rarer find on the used market. Ultimately, while the G37 Sport remains a highly capable performance coupe, the IPL represents the factory's ultimate expression of the G37 platform, blending enhanced engine output with a bespoke aesthetic that remains highly sought after by enthusiasts today.
