As of April 1, 2025, Washington State law requires that every vehicle sold must have its catalytic converter permanently marked for identification purposes. This requirement is part of House Bill 2153, aimed at deterring catalytic converter theft. This service costs $50. Customers may decline the marking service; however, a declination form must be signed, and be aware that failure to comply may result in police confiscating the detached unmarked catalytic converter.
