The Nissan Leaf is the top selling 100% electric vehicle in the world for good reason. Here's why I love the Leaf: It is silent, smooth and extremely fast. It is insanely cheap to operate saving me $7k+ in fuels costs vs my 22mpg suv. It's paid for itself and I run on sunshine (solar on my roof). I live in a very snowy high altitude mountainous region - snow tires, traction control, a low center of gravity have proven this to be capable. Heated seats/steering wheel are luxurious. Downsides: Range is limited - EV's don't operate like gas cars - it's not fill and forget...it's like your cell phone...keep it topped off and range fades as a concern - plus there are literally 100's+ of fast chargers being built across the U.S. which will address longer trips.
