The 2022 Ram2500 Big Horn is a midlevel heavyduty pickup designed to balance capability with comfort. It is more refined and better equipped than the base Tradesman version, adding nicer styling touches, upgraded technology and interior features while still being rugged enough for serious work. Under the hood the Big Horn can be had with the standard 6.4liter HEMI V8 gasoline engine, which delivers about 410 horsepower and around 429 poundfeet of torque. For those who need more pulling power, there is an option for the 6.7liter Cummins turbodiesel engine. Depending on configuration, maximum towing with the Cummins can reach up to about 20,000 pounds; payload capacity also ranges fairly high (over 3,200 lbs in certain trims) when properly configured. Overall length is roughly 238.8 inches, with the box length (bed) being about 76.3 inches in that configuration. Ground clearance front and rear sits around 8.5 inches in that 4x4 crew cab model. One tradeoff is fuel economy, especially with the big engines and when towing or carrying heavy loads. Also total cost can climb significantly as you add packages and options. The size of the truck makes maneuvering, parking, and visibility more challenging than with smaller trucks. Maintenance and operating costs tend to be higher things like tires, brakes, fuel add up.
