By Limey on Thursday, March 09, 2023 5.0 TL;DR It’s an awesome truck if it meets your particular lifestyle needs. Grew up driving lifted gas and diesel 4x4’s. Became a Toyota family when I met my wife and we owned a 4th gen V8 4Runner and a 3rd gen Tacoma before going electric. Loved them both. We currently have a ‘22 Model Y Performance, ‘11 Sienna and the ‘22 R1T. So based off of my personal vehicle history, the R1T has been my favorite to drive/own. It’s an EV so the maintenance really is low compared to a gas/diesel vehicle. I’ve also been very fortunate to have never owned a lemon or a vehicle I couldn’t wait to get rid of. That said, 5 months of R1T ownership is too short to talk about long term reliability by any means.. but so far, so good! It’s a new product from a new company so there are bound to be issues scattered amongst the tens of thousands of R1s produced. Some have had worse issues or "Sold", "No Longer Available", or "Unavailable". Default to false.
