2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Trail Edition. The Trail Edition gets a 1.1-inch front suspension lift and a 0.5-inch rear suspension lift, along with the removal of the front air dam for better ground clearance and improved approach and departure angles. In contrast, the SR5 can be equipped with either 2WD or 4WD, and the suspension tuning is more geared towards a comfortable on-road experience. The Trail Edition comes with 16-inch bronze alloy wheels, 0.5 inches wider than stock, and fitted with Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires with an aggressive sidewall tread pattern for enhanced grip on various terrains. The SR5 typically comes with 16-inch styled steel wheels or optional black alloy wheels. The Trail Edition features a standard locking rear differential, providing increased traction when needed in challenging off-road conditions. The SR5 comes with an automatic limited-slip differential. The Trail Edition includes undercarriage skid plates borrowed from the TRD Off-Road grade for added protection during off-road excursions. The SR5 does not include skid plates as standard.
