Recent Arrival!2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a vehicle that features a lot of things. It is a solid car with too many minor annoyances. The interior and electronics on the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve are on par with the best that other luxury brands offer. The leather and real wood trim are refined, and the heads-up display is clear, sharp, and bright. However, the 4xe system does not work and is totally unreliable. We have had the vehicle in the shop multiple times, with the latest appointment taking three days. The dealer technicians worked with the engineers, and even after numerous software updates and component replacements, they couldn't get the vehicle to charge or even clear the check engine light. If you want a $86K luxury hybrid EV that can't take or hold a charge, then this is the vehicle for you. My previous vehicle was a 2014 JGC ecoDiesel, the first year Jeep reintroduced a diesel engine to the car. I loved that car - great torque and great mileage (31-32 mpg highway). I passed over the 2014 V6 gas engine because it just seemed underpowered to me. I didn't even want to test drive the 2022 V6 because of that memory but the salesperson convinced me to try it, saying it was a very different experience. And it is! Great pickup, good mileage for a car that size and weight (approx 26 mpg highway). Solid feel to the vehicle, not cheap and "tinny". But many electrical issues. It was completely DOA on 2 occasions and had to be jumped to go to the dealer -- and no, I didn't leave anything on. Another time, as soon as I started it, every idiot light lit up the dashboard and remained on and bells kept chiming. I even didn't have power steering! Luckily, this happened in a strip mall parking lot literally across the street from the dealer (what are the odds?!?) and I was able to muscle the steering to get there. Guess what? I shut the car off and in the 5 minutes I was in complaining to the service manager it just fixed itself. In the 5 months since, though, random things don't work. Currently, the front collision mitigation warning light is on and my "Paddle shifting disabled". Service has no idea why, so I'll have to leave it yet again. Start/stop feature hasn't worked about 95% of the time I've had the car. It's been in 3 times so far for this and each time they promise me it's fixed, it works again as designed -- for about a week. And every couple weeks I'm doing a 200+ mile highway drive each way, so it's not as if the batteries aren't getting charged up. That's why I only rate the car a 3-star out of 5. Too many electrical issues to recommend this vehicle. I have zero faith that it won't leave me stranded somewhere sometime and I'm sure I won't be across the street from the dealer when it happens."
