The 2023 Nissan Frontier PRO-X is a two-wheel-drive (4x2) model, specifically a rear-wheel drive. This is its main point of differentiation from the PRO-4X, which comes exclusively with a 4x4 drivetrain. The PRO-X shares many of the visual and functional cues of the PRO-4X, including Bilstein off-road performance shock absorbers, 17-inch dark-finished aluminum-alloy wheels with all-terrain tires, and an Lava Red tow hook. The 2WD configuration gives it a slightly higher towing capacity than the 4x4 PRO-4X model. The Frontier's cabin is a major improvement over the previous generation.
