The BMW X5 provides a posh ride experience while giving you the ability to break out from comfort into an aggressive, sporty and fast ride with the touch of a button. I equipped the executive package from factory for “the looks”, and the crystal shifter has a bad reputation for looking gaudy. To me, the glass shifter sparkles so elegantly and is a constant reminder that this isn’t an average car. The X5 provides great luxury and comfort, and it drives so much smoother, quieter, and more refined than any other vehicle I've been in. The steering wheel is familiar yet so different, and the iDrive is so much better than years past. The gesture control requires time to learn and appreciate it, but it is not gimmicky as many reviews seem to categorize it. The HVAC system is super and reaches your desired climate very quickly. The audio, Harman Karden base system is just fine for me. When I had my 2004 BMW brake dust drove me nuts. The M Sport Brakes does bring back a slight bit of brake dust on the wheels but nothing remotely like in years past when it was common to see a BMW with black wheels beckoning to be cleaned. There is a lot to enjoy about this car and it truly starts my day off wonderfully and ends it the same.
